The lighthouses of Chesapeake Bay.
The Chesapeake Bay is about 200 miles long and currently houses more than 30 lighthouses, down from the original 74.
The beautiful Thomas Point Shoals lighthouse greeted our boat a few miles off the Annapolis Maryland shore as we made our way towards the historic town of St. Michaels for a Maryland blue crab luncheon. The lighthouse was built in 1875 and was the last one to lose its lighthouse keeper and be automated in 1986.
